Joey Simmons, a beloved member of the Shelbyville, TN community, passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 60. He was born on November 26, 1963, in Shelbyville, TN, and spent his entire life there.

Joey was known for his love of fishing and hunting, often spending his free time pursuing these passions. He worked as a dedicated concrete finisher throughout his career, leaving his mark on many projects in the area.

Above all else, Joey cherished his family. He was a loving life partner to Susan Simmons and a proud father to his daughter Tasha and son Matthew. He was also a doting grandfather to his grandchildren Michael, Anastaisa, Tre, Kemel, Shayla, Austin, and Dillon. Joey was immensely proud of his dog Sukie, who brought him great joy and companionship.

Joey is survived by his mother Mary Helen Simmons Howard, father John Simmons Jr, brothers Mike and Frank Simmons, as well as his nieces and nephews Kyle, Lauren, Cassie, and Lexi.

Joey Simmons will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to his work, and love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
