Joe Eddy Martin, born on December 2, 1941, in Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Longview, Texas. He was a devoted husband to Ricky Sue Martin, with whom he shared a loving marriage since 1975. Joe was a proud father to his daughter Gwen, son Ruben, and daughter Anita, as well as a cherished grandfather to two grandsons, six granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
Joe had a zest for life that was infectious, characterized by his great sense of humor and his love for family. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, which brought him immense joy, and had a particular fondness for biscuits and gravy, pot roast, and Little Debbie snacks. His musical tastes leaned toward classic rock, with favorites including the Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Otis Redding, Four Tops, and Willie Nelson.
In addition, Joe made a name for himself in the world of drag racing, where he set two world records in St. Louis during the late 1960s. He found great pleasure in watching westerns and police shows, often sharing these moments with his family at home, which was his favorite place in the world.
