Joanne Walker, affectionately known as JJ, passed away on July 27, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on October 30, 1971, in Blountville, TN, and had most recently resided in Bristol, VA.

Joanne had a zest for life and enjoyed spending her time hiking and dancing. She had a particular love for all things Italian when it came to food.

One of Joanne's most remarkable contributions was her dedication to fostering children. She opened her heart and home to numerous children, providing them with love, care, and stability. Nothing meant more to Joanne than her children, both biological and adopted.

In addition to her role as a foster mom, Joanne found great joy in watching football and was a devoted fan of the Vols. She had a strong-willed personality and cared deeply for everyone she knew. Joanne's impact reached far and wide, as she touched the lives of all the children she saved and raised.

Joanne is survived by her beloved children: Alex, Brian, and Sarah, as well as many adopted children. She also leaves behind her sibling and other close family members.

A churchgoer and a devout Christian, Joanne found solace in her faith. She firmly believed that life wouldn't get better until you took action to fix it. Her proudest accomplishments were the countless children she saved and the love she poured into their lives.

In her memory, donations can be made to local foster care organizations or children's charities, reflecting Joanne's commitment to helping others.
