JoAnne Mary Potter, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 26, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, JoAnne spent her recent years residing in Draper, Utah.
A creative spirit, JoAnne had a passion for floral crafts and wreath-making, which she often shared with her family. She was also an avid interior designer and an enjoyed calligraphy. JoAnne loved cooking, especially during the holidays when she delighted her family with her famous sugar cookies. She had a refined taste and enjoyed chocolate and cheesecake, zingers and anything sweet. She often indulging in her favorite treats while listening and dancing to the sounds of John Mayer, Michael Jackson, and Motown classics.
JoAnne cherished the time spent with her five children—Debra Hayden, Shelly Potter, Christopher Potter, Michael Potter, and Stephan Potter—attending their musical performances and sporting events, and making cherished memories at Disneyland, her favorite place in the world. Her love extended to her 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who knew her as Nanna and adored her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ruth Steadman, Siblings George, Gerald and is survived by her siblings, David, Christine (Moser), and Glenn Steadman.
JoAnne's spirit will be remembered fondly, as she brought joy, creativity, and love into the lives of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
