As a young man, he farmed with his dad. He developed a rock picker to make his farming life easier and that boosted his own business, welding shop called Morehouse welding and sales in which he creatured several Rock pickers for the area as well as customized items for customers such as trailers. He moved his business to dassel, Minnesota where he created the infamous vertical log splitter. One of his last endeavors before retirement was the hydraulic trailer on fish houses.
