Jessica Drayden

November 23, 1986 – February 9, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessica Drayden, a beloved teacher, devoted friend, and compassionate soul. Jessica was born and raised in Oakland, CA, where she built a life filled with kindness, laughter, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Jessica was the best friend to Heather Badial, a bond built on love, loyalty, and countless cherished memories. As a teacher, she touched countless lives, inspiring young minds with her patience, wisdom, and passion for education. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued.

Her kindness extended beyond the classroom—Jessica was deeply committed to helping those in need, particularly the homeless community. She spent much of her time giving back, whether through volunteering, organizing resources, or simply offering a warm conversation and a helping hand.

She was preceded in death by her mother and leaves behind her loving siblings, James and Tamara, along with a circle of friends and students who will forever cherish her memory. Jessica’s legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Jessica’s life (details to be announced). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to organizations supporting homelessness and education, causes that were so close to her heart.

Jessica’s light will never fade—it will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
