Jerry B. Furr, age 90, of Fresno, CA, passed away on August 4, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1934, in Fresno, CA, to the late [Parents' Names]. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed spending his time pursuing his favorite hobbies. He loved camping, attending car shows, watching Westerns on TV, and indulging in his favorite foods, including breakfast, lasagna, Chinese food, hamburgers, and fried potatoes. He had a great appreciation for music, with favorite bands and artists such as Hank Williams, Charlie Daniels, Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, and The Judds.

Jerry proudly served his country, dedicating over 13 years to the Army and the US Reserve. He found great joy in spending time with his beloved wife Alice, his family, and their cherished memories together. Jerry also found solace in the peacefulness of Soquel Camp Ground, which he regarded as his favorite place in the world.

In his downtime, Jerry found entertainment in watching TV shows such as John Wayne, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, Two Broke Girls, and Friends. He was an avid supporter of Fresno State and the 49ers, always eagerly cheering them on. Jerry spent much of his career as a machinist at Buckner's, where he made valuable contributions.

Jerry had a saying, "It's time for a coffee break," which he adhered to religiously. He took pride in his family and friends, considering them his greatest accomplishments. He was married to Alice Jean Furr on May 13, 1953, and together they had two children, Debra Jean Washburn (deceased) and Duane Jerry Furr. Jerry also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jeremy Delgado-Washburn, Joshua Washburn, Jarod Washburn, and Rebecca Furr, as well as his great-grandchildren, Kiya Washburn, Hunter Weber (Washburn), Alex Washburn, Landan Washburn, and Eleanora Washburn.

Jerry is survived by his brother, Jimmy Furr, and sister, Carolyn Baronian. He will be remembered for his easy-going nature, soft-spoken demeanor, carefree spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family. Jerry made a lasting impact on the lives of others by showing that family meant everything. He was an active member of various community organizations, including VFW Post 509, Edison Social Club, and the RavenMortem Hearse Club. Jerry held strong Christian beliefs, which guided him throughout his life.
