Graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1955 and attended the University of New Hampshire where he majored in civil engineering
Professional career
Worked with consulting engineering firms in Honolulu, Boston, Portsmouth and Manchester, NH and in North Springfield, VT. Also an owner and partner of a small survey firm on the seacoast of New Hampshire
Marriage
Married his long time love Penny White in Boston, MA in the summer of 1960
Home design
Designed and built 4 colonial style homes for himself and his wife in New Hampshire and Vermont, doing most of the landscaping work themselves
Interests
Loved music, especially jazz, landscaping, trail making, stone wall construction, building balanced stone sentinels, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking and the outstanding beauty of Vermont
Family
Survived by his wife Penny, two daughters, Catherine Andrew-Haswell of Golden, CO and Melanie Jones of Newfane, VT., two grandsons and one great-grandson
Charity
His favorite charity was the Central Vermont Humane Society, to which donations can be made in his memory
