In Loving Memory of Jennifer Martinez
August 6, 1983 – June 26, 2025
With deep sorrow, we share the unexpected passing of Jennifer Martinez, a beloved mother, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Jennifer left us far too soon, at the age of 41, but her vibrant spirit and loving heart will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.
Born to Peggy Ruiz and Ronald Martinez, Jennifer—affectionately known as “Boo Boo” by her mother and “Jenna” by her aunts and uncles—was a bright light from the very beginning. She grew up with a love of adventure, often found riding bikes and spending time outdoors with friends and cousins. Her bond with her younger sister, Raeanna Ruiz, was strong and unbreakable, grounded in years of laughter, love, and shared memories.
Jennifer’s creative spark emerged early, eventually leading her to pursue cosmetology—a passion that reflected her love for beauty, self-expression, and helping others feel their best. But more than anything, Jennifer was devoted to her children. She beamed with pride when she became a mother to her first daughter, Anaya Norwood, in 2003. Over the years, her family grew to include her twins Jade and Jada, son King, and youngest daughter Ronda. Her children were her world, and her home was filled with music, laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.
She had a contagious sense of humor and a magnetic personality that drew people in. Whether she was telling a funny story, watching her favorite horror movies, or ordering her go-to pizza, Jennifer’s presence made any moment more memorable. Her love for animals—especially dogs and, more recently, cats—was yet another reflection of her kind and caring nature.
Jennifer leaves behind her children: Anaya, Jade, Jada, King, and Ronda; her sister Raeanna; six nieces and one nephew; her maternal grandparents; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her partner, Overn Norwood; her parents, Peggy and Ronald; her paternal grandparents; her aunt, Patricia Ludi; and cousins John Paul Ludi Jr. and Chris Ludi, among others whose memory she always honored.
Jennifer’s life was a beautiful tapestry of strength, humor, love, and resilience. Though her time here was brief, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
