Obituary

Jennifer Pagie Martin Fague, of Hoover, passed away on April 15th at the age of 56 after a long battle with a multitude of chronic illnesses. She was surrounded by her husband and children at the time of her passing.

Paige was born on January 27th, 1967 in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Charlotte Daughety Clark and Walter Clanton Martin, and later raised by Charlotte’s second husband, Robert Albert “Buddy” Clark. Paige was the eldest of their three children. Including the late Christopher Wade Martin and her surviving sibling Ashley Suzanne Martin Crow.

She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1989 while being a valued sorority sister of Delta Zeta. She would later obtain her Masters of Social Work in 1995. Professionally she began work as a patient advocate working in Utilization Review for Bradford Health Services. It allowed her to follow her passion by helping those in need and finding ways to get them the treatment they deserved.

Paige was still at college when she met the love of her life, Jonathan A. Fague. They would have a rather eventful wedding on December 22nd, 1990. It occurred during a major flood that closed highways which prevented part of the wedding party from attending, flooded the reception hall and required a harrowing rescue of the wedding cake.

Paige and Jonathan would go on to have 3 children: Alexander, Anna Hope, Sarah Grace, while fostering her nephew Brayden. She continued to act as a mother to any and all who walked through her door.

She loved the Harry Potter World and the fandom that surrounded it, even recruiting Wizard Rock bands to the Birmingham area. She adored cheering on her favorite football team, Roll Tide! We also can’t forget to mention her favorite artists like the BackStreet Boys or Prince.

She was happy to volunteer what time and energy she had to the people around her at every chance she got. While she struggled with her failing health for more than a decade her faith and headstrong will power kept her pushing through. She became an inspiration to her friends and family on how to keep fighting until the very end.
