Interesting facts about Jennifer

Picture this—Mid-Summer 1986, Huntington, Indiana. Jenny’s chariot? The glorious Mustard Yellow 1985 Pontiac T1000 Coupe, automatic transmission, raw horsepower of a nervous hamster on a caffeine bender. Mom (Jeannine) is at the helm as Driving Instructor Extraordinaire, holding onto the dashboard like she’s about to take off with NASA. The mission: Cross the road before an oncoming car arrives. In theory, simple. In Jenny’s hands? A deleted scene from “Dukes of Hazzard: The Slow Edition.” Mom says, "Okay, Jenny, go ahead!" Jenny floors it—or at least, she thinks she does. The T1000 lurches like a startled goat, jumps gears it never had, and catapults itself into the road. The car doesn’t so much drive as it hopscotches. Think: Sumo wrestler in Tap Shoes. In the back, Nikki and Tera gripping their seatbelts tighter than a Midwestern dad grips the thermostat-- Tera screaming, "GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HER!" Nikki's convinced they’re about to become a roadside cautionary tale, thinking about every life choice that led her to this moment. Meanwhile, in the hatch, Aaron is tumbling around like wet laundry in a dryer, desperately pounding on the hatch yelling, "JENNY, YOU'RE GONNA KILL US!"—His voice cracks somewhere between puberty and terror. Mom’s hair is now officially 1980s “Wind Tunnel Chic” as Jenny ushers the lemon-yellow death trap into Dairy Queen's parking lot. The Pontiac finally lands, sputtering on the other side of the road. Everyone’s alive, but now several years older from sheer stress. Jenny? Proudly puts the car in park and looks around like, “Who is ready for Ice Cream?”

Jennifer's proudest accomplishments

Though miles apart, Jenny's heart was always with her son, Tanner (Haley), and her precious grandchildren in Indiana. She spoke about them often with warmth and immense pride. Her face lit up, especially when she heard little Garret’s laugh, echoing in her heart long after the calls ended. To Tanner, please know how deeply mom cherished you and your children—distance could never diminish the profound love she felt for each of you. You were, and always will be, at the very center of her world. She would sit for hours looking at pictures of your family, dreaming about when she got to see them next. She loved being included in your life, and watching your amazing kids grow. Mom will forever be proud of you.

Obituary

Jennifer "Jenny" O'Neal passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and boundless compassion. Jenny was the proud mother of Kayla Bodnar and Tanner (Haley) Geisleman. Her greatest joy and proudest title was "Nana" to her treasured grandchildren: Lily (18), Oliver (14), Adelyn (12), Alylah (11), Jonah (10), Grasyn (9), Averie (6), Wynter Rayne (6) and Garrett (4).

Born to Jeannine (David) Clarkson and the late Hal O'Neal, Jenny's life was deeply shaped by the early loss of her father when she was only five years old—a loss she felt every day. She carried the cherished memory of her father and beloved grandmother, Barbara Jean, close to her heart. She always found comfort by the thought of their joyful reunion in Heaven.

Jenny's radiant soul could light up any room. Her brilliant smile and striking green eyes, as vibrant as a four-leaf clover, made everyone around her feel cherished. Her laughter was contagious, and her warmth palpable. Always eager to bring joy, Jenny treasured outings to parks and playful adventures with her friends and grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything in this world.

Creativity and resourcefulness defined Jenny’s passionate spirit—she could transform anything with her ingenuity and love. A lover of gardening, Jenny embraced life with fierce independence, determination, and unwavering love.

Her journey was not without struggle, as she bravely faced and continually sought to overcome addiction, guided by her profound and dedicated Christian faith. Her conversations with God were a steady anchor, illuminating her path with hope and grace.

Jenny treasured her lifelong friendships deeply, and was forever grateful for: Toni, Shawn, Doug, Stacy, Andrea, Kelly, Bart, and Janna.

Her siblings—Nicole (Matt) Snyder, Tera Young, and Aaron (Renee) Young—and their children Ashlen, Alec, Aubrey, Alyse, Kristin, Jalynne (a name lovingly chosen by Jenny herself), Grayson, Cameron, and Corey were the pillars of her heart and life story.

Though Jen has now joined her beloved daddy and grandmother, her extraordinary spirit, endless love, and radiant warmth will live on through all who loved her. Jenny’s memory will forever be a blessing and a beacon of love.

We love you Mom, Forever and always <3 Tanner and Kayla.
