Jean Stratton Warren, lovingly known as Mama Jean and Grandma Jean, passed away on June 10, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born on September 22, 1937, in Bethesda, MD, and spent most of her life in Greensboro, NC, before relocating to Forsyth County.
Jean had a deep passion for crafting and sewing, and she enjoyed spending countless hours immersed in her favorite hobbies. She also had a sweet tooth and could never resist a scoop of delicious ice cream. When it came to music, Jean had a fondness for the classics, particularly the tunes from the 50's, as well as iconic artists such as Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson.
In her youth, Jean shared unforgettable moments with her father on his boats around the Chesapeake Bay area, creating cherished memories. However, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family. Jean's love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment shared with them.
Jean's professional journey included working for the FBI, followed by a role as a homemaker, and later venturing into retail sales. She believed in staying busy and was often heard saying, "If you're bored, I'll give you something to do."
One of Jean's proudest accomplishments was her ability to lend a helping hand to others during their times of trouble. She had a generous heart and loved to create handmade gifts for her loved ones and anyone in need.
Jean was married to her devoted husband of 66 years, Robert Lee Warren, and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship. They created a beautiful family, including their children Janet Tennyson (Joe), Wayne Warren (Vickie), and Allan Warren (Cindy).
Jean leaves behind a legacy of love and strength for her grandchildren: Michael Tennyson (Carmina), Brandon Warren (Amanda), Nichole Carr (Dreier), Lindsay Sauls (Josh), Will Warren, Emily Warren (Michael). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Brantson Warren, Aspen Warren, Avett Sauls, Oliver Sauls, Elizabeth Carr, and a baby boy Carr on the way.
Jean held steadfast to her Christian faith, finding solace and guidance in her spiritual beliefs.
As we say goodbye to Jean Stratton Warren, we remember her as a woman who embraced life's joys, showed kindness to others, and always put her family first. Her legacy of love, creativity, and generosity will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
