Obituary for Janice Louise Jefferson
Janice Louise Jefferson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 20, 2024, to join her cherished parents, Bobby Lou McGowan and Champ "Big Poppa" McGowan, in eternal rest.
Born on June 21 1957, in Huntsville Tx, Janice brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. A devoted wife to Gregory Lynn Jefferson, she dedicated her life to her family, always placing their needs and happiness above her own. Her unwavering love and support were the cornerstones of her family's strength and unity.
Janice was the loving mother of Lashorne Mack, who blessed her with three grandchildren: Ashanti (3), Rachiel (3), and Keontra Mack; and Tomiqua Mack, who gifted her with four grandchildren: ShaQuan Garcia and husband Martin Garcia (3), Jaquan Mack and wife Breshanda Wilson Mack (2), NaQuan Mack, and Laquan Grassity. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
An avid chess player and a movie enthusiast, Janice found great pleasure in the simple joys of life. Her love for movies was matched only by her enthusiasm for a good game of chess, often sharing these passions with family and friends. She had an infectious spirit that brightened every room she entered, a true breath of fresh air to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Janice's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was a beacon of light, always ready with a kind word or a warm smile. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those she leaves behind.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held on July 6, at 2:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the local chess club or the community cinema, two places that brought her immense joy.
Rest in peace, Janice Louise Jefferson. You were a guiding light and a breath of fresh air, and your legacy of love will endure.
We'll plant real trees for you in Janice's memory and display your contribution forever.
