Attended South Elementary School in Kent .That is where she met her best friend, Theresa Zurzolo, when they were both 6 years old. 75 years later, they remained best of friends.

She met her husband, Bob Argent, in1960 at a dance they both attended while at Kent State University. They eloped to North Carolina, where the legal age to marry was 18, and were married February 7,1961. They had a second, Catholic Church wedding on May 13,1961, at Bob's parents request. She and Bob were married for years, until his death in
