Janice D Hodnett, affectionately known as Byrd, passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 53. She was born on July 21, 1970, in Danville, VA, and had been residing in Burlington, NC. Janice was a Certified Nurse Assistant by profession and took great pride in her career achievements.
Janice's greatest joy in life came from being with her family. She had an exceptional talent for cooking and would warmly welcome anyone into her home, ensuring they were well-fed. Her loved ones will forever cherish the memories of her delicious meals and the love she poured into each dish.
The beach held a special place in Janice's heart, and it was her favorite place in the world. Whether it was feeling the sand between her toes or listening to the calming sound of the ocean waves, she found solace and peace in those moments.
Janice leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was married to Lavander Clements, and together they created a beautiful family. Janice was a proud mother to three daughters, Ashley Hodnett (Brayden, Amir, Anayah), Ebony Hodnett (Saryah, Kaylee, Julian), Allyssia Poindexter, and one son, Trenton Poindexter. Her children and grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Survived by her mother, Gladys Oakes, and sisters Joanne Saunders and Debbie Polk, Janice was known for her beautiful smile and big heart. She approached life with a warm and welcoming spirit, never meeting a stranger. Janice's impact on the lives of others was profound, and her generosity and kindness touched countless hearts.
Janice held steadfast to her Baptist faith, finding strength and solace in her beliefs. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and the comfort it provided her.
Janice D Hodnett will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to be cherished by her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
