James loved animals but had a special place in his heart for Great Danes.
spending time with his devoted and loving wife, Mandy, whether it be kayaking and soaking in nature or sitting on the front porch and enjoying their evenings together. James also loved spending time with his son Braxton, whether it be going out to dinner and spending quality time with him, showing him how to take care of things around the house, or teaching him about life.

was matched only by his passion for coaching. Whether celebrating a victory or consoling a tough loss, he always knew how to bring out the best in his athletes and students. His voice will forever echo on the sidelines, a reminder to never give up, always strive for greatness, and, most importantly, to play with heart.

He was a devoted husband to Mandy and a loving father to his children, Braxton, Allison, and Jackson. James found immense joy in spending quality time with his family, whether kayaking in nature or sharing quiet evenings on their front porch.
A passionate football coach at Ashville High School, James dedicated his life to guiding his athletes and students. James was also known for his love of cooking and gardening, and he had a special fondness for animals, particularly Great Danes. He is survived by his siblings, John Thompson, Jennifer Tengblad, Jason Tengblad, and Jessica Tengblad, and was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Connie Tengblad.
The unexpected loss of James has left his family and friends heartbroken.
