James Mace Vinson
January 24, 1943 ~ August 24, 2024
James Mace Vinson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and devoted man of God, passed away at the age of 81. Born on dates in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Mace Vinson and Nina Vinson (Wilcher), James led a life marked by service, faith, and love.
A proud Marine, James served his country with honor, courage, and distinction. He fought in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. His dedication to his country was paralleled only by his commitment to his family and his faith.
In addition to his military service, James was a preacher and pastor, dedicating much of his life to guiding others in their spiritual journeys. He shared the word of God with passion and conviction, touching countless lives with his sermons and personal ministry. His deep love for the Lord was evident in everything he did, and he found joy in spreading the message of God’s love and grace.
James was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Green, Stanley Vinson, Carolyn Vinson, and Ray Vinson. He is survived by his siblings Thomas Vinson, Robert Vinson, John Vinson, Anita Vinson, and Theda Howard. He is also survived by his loving children: Lita El her children Kiev, Maameyaa, Kojo and Nanaama. Mason Vinson and his children Tasia and Makhala. Ebony and her children Cy'elle , Ambrielle , Rita-Denise, Julius and Chance. Jamie Matthews and her children Jaiveon, Melony, Malikye and Jamaria. Jaylen Vinson, Jazzette Vinson, and Hannah Vinson. James’s legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Funeral and memorial services will be held on Friday, September 13th at with a candlelight vigil following, starting at 2157 East st. S.E Covington GA 30014
