After that he spent the next century working as a law enforcement officer, retiring as a Police Lieutenant. Lastly, he was working on his Master's degree in counseling with the aspirations of helping law enforcement officers and military veterans navigate mental health and wellness issues.

James Jacques, age 53, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Eagle. He was born on April 13, 1971, in San Jose, CA, and was the beloved son of the late John and Margaret Jacques. James was a devoted father to his three daughters, Rosanne, Nancy, and Mary. He was also a loving husband to his wife, Amber Jacques.
James had a passion for off-roading and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. He had a particular love for beef ribs and indulged in them whenever he could. His taste in music leaned towards Latin Hip-Hop and Old Skool Rap, which always brought a smile to his face.
Prior to his passing, James had an impressive career in service. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Firefighter and Rescue Specialist. After his military service, he dedicated himself to law enforcement, serving for over a century and retiring as a Police Lieutenant. James had a deep commitment to his profession and was working towards a Master's degree in counseling, with the goal of helping law enforcement officers and military veterans with their mental health and wellness.
Outside of work, James cherished spending time with his family and friends. He loved attending dirt oval racetracks, where he found a sense of joy and excitement. Gangster-related movies were among his favorites, and he was an avid fan of motorsports racing.
James had a special place in his heart for dogs and was known for his warm and welcoming personality. He had a knack for making people feel loved and appreciated. His favorite quotes, "Think fast, go faster" and "Get Some," reflected his go-getter attitude towards life.
Throughout his life, James achieved many proud accomplishments. He graduated from the Police Academy as the Class Guide with a class ranking of 4/52, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He also held leadership roles in the community, serving as the Executive Vice-President of the Police Union for two terms.
In addition to his professional and personal endeavors, James was actively involved in the Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, where he found camaraderie and support. His Christian faith brought him solace and guided his actions.
James Jacques leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, wife, sister, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered as a true friend, a loving father, and a devoted public servant.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at San Jose High Academy, San Jose, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a law enforcement charity of your choice.
