James Earl Colvin, born on November 7, 1958, in Columbus, Mississippi, passed away on December 17, 2024, in his hometown. A dedicated heavy machine operator with Mississippi APAC, James was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession. He was a valued member of the Columbus Christian Center and actively participated in the Mississippi Nightingales, where he shared his love for music as a gospel singer.

James was married to his beloved wife, Jacqueline Hayden Colvin, for 44 cherished years. The couple met in Memphis Town and built a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three daughters: Shemekeo Hayden, Shannon (Michael) Colvin-Richmon, and Shalondia (Corey) Colvin-Weston, all of Columbus, MS. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Laquita Hodo Hayden, and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who will remember him fondly.

A passionate outdoorsman, James enjoyed fishing and hunting, finding joy in nature and the tranquility it provided. He was an avid sports fan, with a special affinity for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Mississippi State Bulldogs. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious, bringing family and friends together to share in the excitement.

James is survived by his loving wife and daughters, as well as his siblings: Hilda Williams of Savannah, GA, and Danny Colvin, Judy Ross, and Lucious D. Colvin, all of Columbus, MS. His warm spirit and dedication to family, faith, and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
