James was born February 13, 1952 to parent John and Ellamae Whitfield who both proceeds him in death. James who everyone lovingly called Pop-Pop. James was a faithful member of Second Ebenezer Church where he served as head Usher and met the love of his life Alberta Hines who he lovely Called his Bertie they never married in a traditional ceremony but they were dedicated to each other until James took his last breath and to that union they have four children James Darnell Whitfield Jr( Dorothy), Darnell Earl Whitfield ( Cassie) Tracy Ann Whitfield Sr (Mason) and the baby Alberta Sonya Whitfield (Oscar) James was a dedicated father and grand father taking pride in his 6 grand children Tracy Whitfield Jr, Dallas Whitfield, Monte Whitfield, Andre Whitfield, Lois Whitfield, William Whitfield. On January 17th James PopPop transitioned home to be with his parents and to sit at the feet of God. James leaves to cherish is loving Bertie a host of children and grand children. His family will never forget his teachings of love, family and honor.
