James Craig Magee, beloved father, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2024, in the Conroe medical center at the age of 41. He was born on January 25, 1983, in Temple, Texas, raised in Milano and most recently resided in Rockdale, Texas.
James had a passion for playing baseball and fishing, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an insatiable love for Jesus & barbecue and enjoyed listening to country music, with Jason Aldean being one of his favorite artists. However, nothing brought James more happiness than getting to spend time with his children.
In addition to being a caring father, James was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly fond of baseball, softball, and football. He was known by the nickname "Big Yack" and will forever be remembered for his extraordinary skills on the baseball field.
James leaves behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness. He possessed a giving spirit and would go above and beyond to help others, always ready to lend a helping hand. Even when he had nothing left to give, he gave what he could to anyone around him. His impact on the lives of those around him was immeasurable.
Survived by his children, Emalyn Magee (15), Easton Magee (13), Colt Matthews (7), Jayce Aguilar (3), and stepdaughter Sonya Salomon (20), James Craig’s love for his family knew no bounds. He is also survived by his father, James Edward Magee, his mother, Carolyn Barrett Lovelady, four sisters, Brenda Gundermann, Shannon Gelner, Elaina Magee, and Deana Eanes, and one brother, Thomas Hobbs.
James Craig held firm to his Christian faith, which provided him strength and guidance throughout his life. He became a member of HNW church of Houston in 2014. Where he began developing a closer relationship with God. Even in his struggles with addiction, he never lost faith or forgot that God had a plan for him.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May James Craig Magee rest in eternal peace.
The donations will go to each of James Craig’s children to help pay for their participation in sports this coming school year. In memory of their Dad.
