Watching sports. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports
Jake loved his family. He loved making others laugh and telling family stories.
His family
Jake Curtis Perry Sr., of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on November 14, 2025, with his two oldest children and his oldest sister lovingly by his side at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Born on January 7, 1961, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Willie and Perlia Mae Perry, Jake grew up in South Beloit, Illinois—affectionately known as Dodge City—a place that shaped his roots, his pride, and his unshakable loyalty to family and community.
Jake’s greatest joy in life was his family. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, and his love for them ran deep. His final wish was simple, powerful, and true to who he was: to be surrounded by his family before God called him home. Jake loved nothing more than being in their company—sharing stories, laughter, and moments that stitched their hearts together. He especially cherished watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering them on with a smile that said everything.
Visiting Dodge City always brought him comfort, connection, and a chance to reminisce with old friends and loved ones. Jake’s presence was warm, familiar, and steady—he was the kind of man whose love lingered long after he left the room.
Jake leaves to cherish his memory his children: Tasheka (Raymond) Gosha, Jake (Hali) Perry, Brittany (John) Brown, and Keyonta Smith; his grandchildren: Brandon (Stephanie)Perry, Brianna Perry, Ameriah Hereford, Jayce Perry, Melachi Perry, and Michelle Perry; and great-grandchildren: Damani Perry and Alaya Perry. He is also survived by his siblings: Emma Grace Perry, Eloise Anderson, Helene Perry, Marilyn Perry, Tina Perry, Robert Perry, and John Perry; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jake was preceded in death by his father, Willie Perry; his mother, Perlia Mae Perry; and his brother, Joseph “Bo” Perry.
Jake’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and family. His memory will continue to shine through the lives of all who loved him.
