Jai’la Brielle Price, affectionately known as Jai, passed away on October 26, 2024, at the age of 122. Born on June 18, 1902, in Detroit, Michigan, Jai lived her life fully in her home state, leaving behind a unique legacy that will be remembered by those who knew her.
Throughout her life, Jai was known for her unapologetic enjoyment of food and her distinctive personality. With a motto that included phrases such as “Stank, fat ahh, I’m hungry,” she embraced her love for eating with a passion that was evident to all. Her proudest accomplishments centered around her remarkable ability to indulge in her favorite activities, often accompanied by a playful disregard for cleanliness.
Jai was married and blessed with a large family, having borne 12 children who will carry on her spirit. While she had no surviving parents or siblings, her presence was felt widely in the lives of her children, who fondly remember their mother for her big bald head and vibrant personality.
Known for her defining traits, Jai had a larger-than-life presence characterized by her humor and carefree attitude. Her friends and family will cherish the anecdotes, including her love for Slim Jims, that capture her essence.
Although Jai’s life was marked by her eccentricities, she made a lasting impact on those around her through her boldness and authenticity. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will live on through the stories and laughter she inspired.
We'll plant real trees for you in Jai’la's memory and display your contribution forever.
