She loved being home. She loved Walmart and going anywhere with her sister Pat.
Food network. TCM.
Chocolate, or anything really.
Sweets. She loved sweets of all kinds.
Hope Joyce Hicks, born on February 28, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on January 10, 2024, surrounded by her closest loved ones; In her beloved hometown of Warren, Michigan. She was a woman of vibrant spirit and a zest for life.
Hope had a passion for old movies and could often be found watching her favorite TV channel, TCM. Her favorite foods included hard-boiled eggs, spaghetti, and cookies, which she enjoyed sharing with her loved ones. Johnny Cash's music touched her soul, and she spent many hours listening to his songs.
Hope was widowed by her loving husband, Jimmie Ray Hicks. Together, they raised six children: Raymond, Deborah, Brenda, Daniel, Yolanda, and Tonya. Her late sister Patricia Moffet was her best friend. Her family continued to grow with the addition of 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Known for her wild and crazy nature, Hope lived life on her own terms and fearlessly spoke her mind. She had a generous spirit and constantly went out of her way to help others, offering advice and support whenever needed.
Hope held strong religious beliefs and was a devoted member of the Jehovah Witness community. Her faith brought her comfort and served as a guiding light throughout her life.
Hope Joyce Hicks will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, independence, and unwavering spirit will forever live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
A small viewing service, 11-12:30 (immidiate family only) with a burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens at 2pm. There will be a celebration of life in the future for all friends and family, but not at this time!
