The world dimmed on the day Hope Alysse was taken from us in a tragic car accident caused by a drunk driver while she was on her way home from work. Her name matched her soul—she was Hope in every room she entered, Hope in every life she touched, and Hope in every act of love she gave so freely.
Hope dedicated her life to serving others. She was a joyful and devoted Pre-K teacher, a role that brought her tremendous happiness. She had recently begun working in the classroom and was so proud to be shaping young minds with gentleness and patience. To support her family, she also worked as a bartender at The Green Turtle in Baltimore, where her warmth and humor made her a favorite among coworkers and customers alike. Prior to that, she served as a Medication Management Specialist at Turning Point Clinic in Baltimore, helping individuals on their own journeys toward healing and recovery.
Her heart was even larger than her workload. Hope volunteered tirelessly to help those struggling with addiction and spent countless hours serving meals and offering kindness to the homeless. She lived her faith with sincerity and compassion, believing deeply that God placed her on this earth to love, uplift, and care for those who needed it most.
Above all else, Hope was a devoted mother. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Psalm and Micah, and is now reunited in Heaven with her precious daughter Genesis Alysse, who passed away just two months ago. Though mother and daughter are together again, the loss left behind on earth is immeasurable.
She is survived by her loving mother Kimberly Martin, her sister Faith Alysse, her cousin Brittany Briscoe, and many family members, friends, students, coworkers, and community members whose lives were forever changed by her gentleness, humor, and fierce generosity. Hope had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She would give her last dollar to someone in need, yet somehow still manage to brighten their day with laughter.
Hope found beauty in simplicity—pink flowers, the ocean, music, crafting, and anything that allowed her to create joy for others. For those who loved her, these small things will forever carry her memory.
When you see pink, think of Hope.
Private services were held on November 15th at 10:00 AM, where family gathered to honor her life, her love, and the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.
In support of her sons, who will be in the care of her cousin, an Amazon Wishlist has been created for those wishing to help during this heartbreaking transition. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ensure Psalm and Micah are cared for with the same tenderness their mother gave them every day.
Hope taught us what it means to love without limits, to give without hesitation, and to believe in goodness even in moments of darkness. May we each honor her by living with that same open-hearted grace.
