Obituary

Holly Diann Bates, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away recently at her home in Pittsburg, TX. She was born on December 25, 1965, in Rusk, TX, to Kathy Morris Doil Mcknight.

Holly attended Cushing High School before furthering her education at Business College in Nacogdoches, TX, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. For over 20 years, Holly worked as a trucking dispatcher, first at Safe-T Crisis Center in Mount Pleasant and later at Wood County Co Op, where she found a loving family.

Outside of her professional life, Holly was passionate about gardening and fishing, finding solace and joy in the outdoors. She also dedicated her free time to being a Sunday school and Wednesday night teacher for the youth at West Main Baptist Church in Henderson, TX. Holly's selfless and kind nature touched the lives of many, and she always put a smile on the faces of those she encountered.

Above all else, Holly cherished her role as a Nana to her six grandchildren. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them and watching them grow. She adored her daughter, Kaitlyn Kuykendall, and son-in-law, Bj Wisinger, as well as her stepdaughter, Ashley Applewhite, stepson Justin Bates, and daughter-in-law, Natalie Peek.

Holly is survived by her mother, Kathy Mcknight, sister Beverly Mcknight, nephew Kory Turner and wife April, great-niece Hannah Turner, and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Doil Mcknight.

Holly's battle with cancer showcased her incredible strength and resilience. Her impact on the lives of others cannot be overstated. She will be remembered for her selflessness, kind-heartedness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, TX, Holly found solace and strength in her faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
