Henry Edward Tarno, born on June 14, 1946, in Gladwin, MI, passed away on October 18, 2024 (78 years old) at Hurley hospital in Flint, MI. Henry lived in Millington, MI. A beloved figure in his community, Henry was known for his vibrant personality and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He worked for over 40 years at AC Spark Plug, where he served as a Maintenance Supervisor and was proud to be the last man to walk out of the facility.
Henry had a deep passion for golf and hunting, often found on the golf course, which he considered his favorite place in the world. A memorable highlight of his life was achieving a hole-in-one, a testament to his dedication to the game. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed sharing his love for sports with his family. He also loved to gamble at the casino and play euchre.
Henry had a unique charm that endeared him to everyone he met. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a story to share. His warm spirit and humor made lasting impressions on friends and family alike - he was affectionately nicknamed "Grandpa Bonehead” by his grandchildren.
Henry is survived by his brother Will Tarno, sister-in-law Brenda (nieces Kim Remmers and Nikki Venglar), daughter Jill Belanger (grandsons Jake, Josh, and Joey), Son Jason Tarno and his wife Tiffany (grandchildren Carson and Josie), and son-in-law Bill Latesky (grandchildren Alaina, Emily, and Brenton). He also leaves behind his stepson Chuck Millard and his wife Denise (granddaughter Chelsea Koelsch). stepdaughter Jennifer Knack (grandchildren Josh and Sarah). He is further survived by five great-grandchildren.
Henry is preceded in death by his mother Alta Ileene Goode, father Willard Sherman Tarno, sister Barbara Tarno, daughter Michelle Latesky, stepdaughter Lisa Millard, grandson Brandon, and one great-granddaughter.
In addition to his family, Henry was an active member of the Vassar Eagles Club - 2380, contributing to his community and making new friends along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dinner will be served at 2:30pm. The family will celebrate his life with speeches at 2pm In lieu of flowers, we would like Donations made to Vassar Eagles club in memory of Henry Tarno - Eagle number 2380
