“Jake” Helmut William Jakobeit, 82, of Terryville, CT and most recently, Davie, FL, died November 17 surrounded by family.  Jake was born in New Jersey on February 22, 1940 to William and Louise Jakobeit. He is survived by his wife Jane Jakobeit of Davie FL, his son, John Jakobeit & fiance Becky Bobola of Bristol, CT, his daughter Judy Nelson of Terryville, CT, his son Bill Jakobeit & wife Amy of Bristol, CT, his stepson Michael Malinski of Florida, his stepson Tom Malinski & wife Sue of Colorado, his son in law Tim Rindflesh of Terryville, CT,  his grandchildren, Jeremy, Jon,  Derek, Alyssa, Damon, Keegan , Tim, Kaylyn, David, Riley, Sofia and Dylan, His great grandchildren, Jack, Lyla, Max, Audrey, Aria, Tavin, Juliette, Nora, Caroline and Emma, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.   He was predeceased by his Father, Mother, sister Marylou Krause, daughters Susan Beers  and Sherry Rindflesh. 
He grew up in Terryville for most of his life and was an avid motorcycle and race car enthusiast.  He could always be found tinkering in the garage with one or the other.  If you ever needed anything he knew someone or some place to get it.  He made friends wherever he went and had stories to tell about many of them. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2023.
