Harry Edward Neal, known affectionately as "Pops," was born on January 12, 1942, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on November 13, 2024, in Sacramento, California, where he spent his later years. A graduate of Sacramento State University, Harry's passion for life was evident in everything he did.
Harry had a love for riding horses and found joy in the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. Music was another of his great loves, with the Gap Band being among his favorite artists. He lived by the motto, "Give people their flowers while they are here," a testament to his generous spirit.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marylin Washington, and his loving children: Keyonia Collins, Dalanda Williams, Cathy Williams, Yvette Washington, Cynthia Mack, Craig Davison, and Vee Tran. He is also survived by his father, Benson James, mother, Vanessa Lanes, and sister, Melissa James.
Harry's warm smile and his ability to light up a room with his presence left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His love was unconditional, and he treated all with kindness and respect. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
We'll plant real trees for you in Harry's memory and display your contribution forever.
