Gussie was a dedicated and hard-working individual who spent 17 years working at Walmart, where he was frequently recognized as Employee of the Month for his commitment and diligence.
Gussie graduated from Washington Union High School, a proud milestone in his life. He married his high school sweetheart, Loretta Young, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Although Gussie and Loretta did not have children together, he embraced the role of stepfather to her two daughters, forming cherished bonds with them.
Known for his good humor and sweet disposition, Gussie had a heart of gold that touched the lives of everyone around him. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and family, often enjoying fishing trips with his brother and cooking up delicious meals for loved ones. His favorite place in the world was the casino, where he enjoyed sharing moments of excitement and joy with Loretta.
Gussie is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his sisters, Annie Ragland and Armie Jamison; his stepdaughter, Lashonda Johnson; and several grandchildren. He will be remembered not only for his contributions in his professional life but also for the warmth and kindness he showed to those he loved.
