Gordon James Bach

Gordon James Bach, known fondly by many as Hun, Babe, Daddy, Gordy, and Gordo, lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. A proud Marine through and through, Gordon served honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. His deep sense of duty and leadership carried through to his professional life, where he worked as a heating and air salesman, realtor, and later as a warehouse supervisor at the Veterans Home—always remaining connected to the community he cared so deeply for.

Gordon’s motto, “I’m the Man,” summed up his confidence, humility, and quiet strength. His proudest accomplishment was serving his country as a Marine, a role that shaped much of who he was and guided how he led his life—with integrity, strength, and loyalty.

He was married to the love of his life, Debbie Bach, for over 30 years. Together they built a beautiful family rooted in love and respect. Gordon is survived by his wife, Debbie Bach; sons David Bach, Jared Bach and Jaxon Bach; daughter-in-law Kim Quamme; and his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Erik Quamme (Dcsd). He also leaves behind his siblings David Bach (Donna), John Bach, Donella Bach, Michelle Bach, and Heidi Bach, as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his step-mother, all of whom will cherish his memory deeply.

Gordon was a Proud Marine, community-oriented, and a loving family man. He was the kind of person who was always there when someone needed him—a steadfast friend, mentor, and companion. He touched countless lives through his kindness, humor, and unshakable reliability.

Active in his community, Gordon was involved with the Asphalt Cowboys, Redding HOG, and several other local organizations. He proudly arranged and hosted the Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard for the Redding Rodeo for several years, continuing his lifelong support of both his military and local community.

Gordon’s life was one of service, laughter, and love. He lived by example, teaching those around him the value of family, friendship, and doing what’s right—even when no one was watching. His loyalty, humor, and heart will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing him.

He truly was “the man”—a Marine, a family man, a friend, and a pillar of his community. Gordon will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him
