Gloria enjoyed working on electronics and, at one point, owned her own TV and video repair shop called TV Girl.
Going to Crater Lake with her mother and having movie night with her best friend Will every Friday night
She wanted to visit France, but her favorite places were the bayous in Louisiana , Crater Lake, and the coast of Oregon.
Glorias favorite TV shows were NCIS New Orleans and The Secret of Skin Walker Ranch. She regularly watched sports as well.
She attended La Grange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
She studied electrical engineering at Lane Community College and Oregon State University.
Gloria worked for TV Specialty Shop on River Road and for City View TV. She went on to own her own business called TV Girl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Houston Sonnier, her brother, Robbie Sonnier, and her sister Charlene Hollingsworth. She is survived by two brothers, Van Sonnier and George Sonnier, and by her son Erik.
Gloria M Sonnier, lovingly known as Glo, passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on July 10, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Gloria had recently resided in Eugene, Oregon.
Gloria had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. She loved cooking, working on electronics, and spending quality time with her family. She always sent cards to her family members to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Exploring the wonders of nature brought her immense joy, whether it was visiting Crater Lake, the beautiful Oregon Coast, or the tulip fields. Gloria had a particular fondness for southern cooking, crawfish, gumbo, her father's famous Houston's shrimp recipe, and homemade cherry cream pie. Watching others enjoy her cooking brought happiness for her.
Gloria cherished her cats, Angel and Midnight, who brought her much comfort and companionship throughout her life. She was also a dedicated professional, earning a degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own TV and video repair shop, affectionately named TV Girl.
Family and friends were of utmost importance to Gloria. She loved going to Crater Lake with her mother, creating cherished memories together. Additionally, every Friday night, she looked forward to movie nights with her best friend, Will Winget. She always tried to keep the family updated on how everyone was doing.
Gloria attended La Grange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and pursued her passion for electrical engineering at both Oregon State University and Lane Community College.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Houston Sonnier, her brother, Robbie Sonnier, and her sister Charlene Hollingsworth. She is survived by two brothers, Van Sonnier and George Sonnier, and by her son Erik.
She was immensely proud of her achievements, including her degree in electrical engineering and the successful ownership of TV Girl. Gloria's life motto was "Never give up." a reflection of her determined and resilient spirit. She was a firm believer in prayer.
Gloria will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her presence, warmth, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
