Father; William Glenn Montgomery, Mother; Grace Bird Hillhouse Home church and church of baptism; Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church. Also sponsor church where I joined Troop 18 Boy Scouts of America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout including bronze and gold palms. Later a charter member of Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church in Bluff Park and finally a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church in 1961. Member of Children of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution. Graduated from Elyton Grammar School 1943, Ensley High School 1947 and earned a BS degree from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in December 1950. Served in the United States Army Medical Corp as an x-ray technician in the 22nd Evacuation Hospital in Pusan, Korea then the 8228 MASH north of Seoul, Korea. Obtained an MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine class of 1958, during which time I met and later married RN, Mary Lee Goggans, who worked in the surgery section of the Veterans Administration during my Sophomore training. After graduation I attained both a rotating internship and residency in Pediatrics at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield, Alabama. Joined Dewey A. White Jr. MD at Pediatric Associates in Mountain Brook. Member of the Jefferson County Medical Society, the Jefferson County Pediatric Society, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 1985 I became the Director of Student Health in the medical center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Married Mary Lee Goggans of Phenix City, Alabama on September 6, 1957 at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church. Children; C. Dianne Swicord (Grady), Lisa Marie Nice (Pete), Michael Glenn Montgomery (Cristina) Atlanta, Georgia and Lee Hillhouse Montgomery (Laura) Charlotte, North Carolina. Grandchildren; Christopher Stender Swicord, Melinda Grace Swicord, Mary Elizabeth Swicord, Brittany Marie Swicord, Cayman Adams-Nice, Alice Adams-Nice, Ashlyn Nicole Montgomery and Zachary Jon Montgomery. Special Interests; a love of music including a 40 years membership in the Alabama Jubilee Barbershop Chorus, a love of sailing, member of the Birmingham Sailing Club, U.S. Power Squadron, U.S. Coast Guard Squadron, many years of Bareboat charter, sailing in both the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands. Funeral arrangements; South Highland Presbyterian Church in the chapel where the Skinner organ, which originated in the Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church, was later acquired by South Highland Presbyterian Church.

Glenn Hillhouse Montgomery, a beloved member of the community, passed away at an undisclosed date. He was born on April 29, 1929, in Ensley Highlands, Birmingham, AL. Glenn resided in Mountain Brook, AL at the time of his passing.

Glenn was the son of William Glenn Montgomery and Grace Bird Hillhouse. He had a strong connection to his faith, having been a member of Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church, Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, and South Highland Presbyterian Church.

Throughout his life, Glenn was devoted to his country and community. He was a proud Eagle Scout, achieving the rank with bronze and gold palms. Glenn was also a member of the Children of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution.

Education played a significant role in Glenn's life. He graduated from Elyton Grammar School in 1943, Ensley High School in 1947, and obtained a BS degree from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in December 1950. Later, he earned an MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1958.

Glenn served in the United States Army Medical Corp as an x-ray technician in Korea. He worked at the 22nd Evacuation Hospital in Pusan and the 8228 MASH north of Seoul. After his military service, Glenn completed a rotating internship and residency in Pediatrics at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield, Alabama. He went on to join Pediatric Associates in Mountain Brook, where he worked alongside Dr. Dewey A. White Jr.

In addition to his medical career, Glenn had a passion for music. He was a devoted member of the Alabama Jubilee Barbershop Chorus for 40 years. The chorus allowed him to indulge in his love of music. Glenn also enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Birmingham Sailing Club, U.S. Power Squadron, and U.S. Coast Guard Squadron. He embarked on bareboat charters, exploring the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands.

On September 6, 1957, Glenn married his beloved wife, Mary Lee Goggans, at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church. Together, they raised four children: C. Dianne Swicord (Grady), Lisa Marie Nice (Pete), Michael Glenn Montgomery (Cristina), and Lee Hillhouse Montgomery (Laura). Glenn's grandchildren, Christopher Stender Swicord, Melinda Grace Swicord, Mary Elizabeth Swicord, Brittany Marie Swicord, Cayman Adams-Nice, Alice Adams-Nice, Ashlyn Nicole Montgomery, and Zachary Jon Montgomery brought him immense joy.

Funeral arrangements will take place at South Highland Presbyterian Church, in the chapel where the Skinner organ, originally from Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church, now resides.

Glenn Hillhouse Montgomery will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his unwavering commitment to medicine. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and love. He will forever be missed and cherished by all who knew him.
