Girardo Martin Martinez, affectionately known as Jerry, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 31, 1958, in Corpus Christi, TX, Jerry most recently resided in Lincoln, NE.

As a devoted father, Jerry cherished his children, Carina and Alycia Martinez, and was always a source of support for them, instilling in them the values of respect and open communication. He was married to Elizabeth Bennett-Martinez, and although they were separated, they shared a bond as the parents of his beloved daughters.

Jerry was a skilled roofer and found great pride in establishing his own business, Martinez Roofing & Repair, which became a significant achievement in his life. He was deeply admired for his positive energy and sense of humor, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Jerry's favorite hobbies included fishing, and he had a passion for music, particularly enjoying the sounds of Ramon Ayala.

He was survived by his siblings: Rita, Sarah, Leonore, Michelle, and brother Ernesto Martinez. His extended family included children Erica, Eva, Alma, Jeremy, and numerous close friends including Craig Morgan, Mark and Aaron Therian, Billie Jack, Terry Schultz, and Brian Pontious. Jerry's life was a testament to his belief in keeping the peace and respecting others, often lightening the mood with his jovial sayings and good nature.

A man of faith, Jerry was a practicing Catholic who believed in the importance of family and community. His impact on the lives of those around him will be fondly remembered, as he always strived to help others and maintain harmony in their lives. Jerry will be deeply missed but his warm spirit and infectious energy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
