Gertrude Hudson, affectionately known as Trudy, passed away on October 18,2024, at the age of 85. Born on August 4, 1939, in Obernbreit, Germany, she later made her home in Irmo, South Carolina.

Trudy was a beloved member of her community and a dedicated employee at The Summit Club in Columbia, SC, where she worked for 44 wonderful years. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature earned her the title of matriarch among members and fellow employees alike. Trudy cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandkids, and found immense joy in her beautiful yard, where she loved to garden alongside her beloved dogs, Zimba and Rocco.

One of Trudy's proudest accomplishments was becoming a U.S. citizen, a milestone that underscored her deep appreciation for her new home. Her infectious laughter and her signature saying, “Oh boy,” will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Trudy leaves behind her two beautiful daughters Lisha Hudson-Christopher and Patricia “Monic” Hudson-Gleaton who were pre deceased along w Karen Hudson and Sheila Hudson as well as her grandkids in which she cherished soo much Amanda “Mandy”Christopher -Alston , Rowan Alston, Jaydan Alston, Avery Hudson Gill ,Savannah Christopher, Christopher Hudson, Tyler Bishop, Jessica Brittany Gleaton a legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
