German started working in banking and then moved into sales, working for Farah Manufacturing and Billy the Kid. He later started his own business, Bombela Flooring. He was an avid tennis player, and loved swimming in his pool.
His wife Kathy and his entire family.

German "Chris" Bombela, born on July 27, 1938, in East Chicago, IN, passed away on January 7, 2025, in El Paso, TX surrounded by his loving family. Chris was a devoted husband to Kathy Bombela and a loving father to his children, Lisa Bombela-Comuzzie (Mark), and Chris Bombela (Denise). He cherished his role as a grandfather to Brendan and Ian Comuzzie, Alec York, Lindsey Barkley, and Paris Bombela.
Chris had a vibrant personality characterized by his dry humor and quick wit, always exuding subtle class and poise. His love for music was evident in his fondness for Jazz, Big Band, The Eagles, Chicago, and The Doobie Brothers. Artist such as Sammy Davis, Perry Como, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, and Frank Sinatra always held special places in his heart.
Professionally, Chris began his journey in banking, where he met the love of his life, before transitioning to sales, where he worked with Farah Manufacturing and Billy the Kid. He later fulfilled his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own business, Bombela Flooring. An avid sports enthusiast, Chris passionately supported his favorite teams, including the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics, and Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed playing tennis and relished swimming in his pool, sharing laughter and good times with friends and family.
Chris is survived by his wife, Kathy, his children, and grandchildren, along with his siblings: Evelina Martinez, Rosemary Tobias (Domingo), and Anthony Bombela (Lupe). He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Haydee Bombela.
Chris found joy in life’s simple pleasures, often sitting in the sun, enjoying good music, and spending quality time with his loved ones. His legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
