Gerald Kenneth Foster, age 90, Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2026.
Jerry was born on November 16, 1935, Cincinnati, Ohio and was the beloved son of the late Howard and Virginia Foster.
Known to many simply as "Jerry". He lived his life with an open suitcase and an open heart. He was never happier than when he was discovering a new place, meeting new people, or sharing stories from the road. His enthusiasm for life was contagious. He taught us that the world is wide, that adventure is always worth saying yes to, and that joy can be found in every corner if you're willing to look. We will miss his laughter, his energy, and the way he made every day feel like the start of a new journey. His zest for life was unmistakable, and he shared it generously with everyone around him. Although his travels have ended, he leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, courage and appreciation for the beauty of the world. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Jerry proudly served the United States as a Marine in the Korean war. A chapter of life that reflected courage, discipline, and deep love of country.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Angel Johnson and Nikki Norman (Todd Steele); his stepson, Jason Waddle, Sr. (Rosie Waddle). He was a proud grandfather to Jason Waddle, Jr., Samantha Waddle and Alexis Norman, and a loving great-grandfather to Clayton, Porter and Violet. He also leaves behind many close friends and family who will forever cherish his memory.
Jerry is preceded in life by his parents, Howard and Virginia Foster, his wife Johanna Foster, Jeanne Foster (former wife), his siblings, Jean Stichtenoth, Jimmy Foster and Danny Foster.
True to his generous nature, Jerry chose to donate his body to science. Honoring his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service but a celebration of life later this summer in the place he loved most; Gatlinburg, Tennessee where we will spread his ashes and celebrate his life.
