He was a devoted husband to Judith Vandiver and a loving father to his two daughters, Shelia Cornelison and Tracy Vandiver. George also cherished his role as a grandfather to Justin Cornelison.

Known for his generous spirit, George was always a helping hand to those in need. He lived by the motto, "I'm old and I don't remember," which reflected his humble nature and good-heartedness. George loved nothing more than spending quality time with his family and attending services at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
