George Finney Jr., a beloved resident of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on June 13, 1950, in Orange, Texas, George, affectionately known as "Junior," was a fun-loving individual who brought joy to everyone around him.
George was a graduate of West Orange Starks High School in Orange, Texas. He dedicated many years of his life to serving as a vital part of the Lighthouse for the Blind, where he made a significant impact on others.
In his leisure time, George found immense joy in fishing and cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. His love for the water was evident, as he would often spend hours by the shore, enjoying the tranquility and thrill of fishing.
George was proceeded in death by his parents George Finney Sr and Mrs. Ester Finney. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie D. Finney, and his siblings: Sisters: Georgia Marie Hawthorne (Jerry) ElDoris Finney, Lynn Gail Nix Brothers: James L. Finney Sr. ( late Michelle) and Jerald Dwight Finney. Mr. George Finney Jr. is also survived by his nieces: Latoya Guity, Francisca Beasley, Terranesia Guity, Tammy Skinner, Rosiland Malone, Nannette Hawthorne and Donna Bigalow, nephews: Jacey Finney, Jeraldco Finney, James Finney Jr., Jerry Hawthorne Jr. Sister in Laws: Erma Lewis, Ruby Thibodeaux, Claudia Finney, Mary Thomas, one brother in law Kenneth Thomas Sr (Betty) a lot of nieces and nephews. George believed in Christ and accepted Him as his savior,
George Finney Jr. will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his love for family, and his friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
