It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geneva Glenn, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, on September 21, 2023 at Mission Hospital after a long battle of cancer. Born on January 25, 1950, Geneva left an indelible imprint on the lives of those she touched with her caring and loving nature.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Glenn; her daughter, Malinda Chandler (Jason); her sisters, Connie Glenn and Dean Carter; as well as 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Each will carry forward her legacy of perseverance in the face of adversity and a heart filled with gratitude during joyful times.
Geneva was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Mary Dockery; her sisters, Doris Singer and Billie Howard; and her brothers, Harry, Larry, and Robert Dockery. Geneva is celebrating her 56th wedding anniversary with her husband John Glenn this year in heaven, along with their children, Connie Dewine, Mary Glenn, and Nancy Turner.
Everyone who knew Geneva knew of her love for the simple joys in life. Fishing was not merely a pastime; it was a tranquil moment to soak in the beauty of the natural world. Family bingo games were highly anticipated events where laughter and love filled the room. She was a beacon of serenity and resilience who demonstrated great strength and graciousness in times of hardship. She had an unwavering love for life, and a contagious enthusiasm for things she held dear.
A celebration of Geneva's life will be held at a later date. The family will announce the details as soon as possible. As we gather, we remember a woman who was a beacon of love, who navigated the complexities of life with grace and fortitude. Let us honor Geneva's memory by living as she did, with a caring heart and a loving spirit.
May her soul finally rest in peace.
We'll plant real trees for you in Geneva's memory and display your contribution forever.
