Gary loved watching movies, and cooking. He'd become a self-made chef!
Gary loved burgers, chocolate cake, and ice cream.
Gary enjoyed The Fugees, Sade, Al Green, The Gap Band, Earth Wind & Fire, The Temptations, James Brown, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Jarreau, Maze, Charlie Wilson, & Lionel Richie, just to name some! His taste was expansive.
He had hustle! Always had some kind of way to make a buck, whether it be selling clothes, movies, or CDs, he was all about his bread. And he always kept a beautiful woman by his side.
Traveling. He wanted to see the world.
Gary's favorite to be place was cruising over the sea, or at home in bed takin' it easy.
Top Cat was his favorite childhood cartoon, and he could never stop watching Scandal or Power.
Gary loved golf. He was undefeated on Wii Sports Golf.
Gary Warren “G” Jackson, 71, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born on December 9, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gary spent most of his life in Pittsburgh, where he built a legacy of hard work, sharp wit, and fierce love for his family.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later continued a life of service working at the VA hospital. Over the years, he worked multiple jobs, including in the steel mill, and always found a way to provide, embodying the spirit of a true hustler as he sold clothes, movies, and CDs to make his next dollar.
Known to many as “G,” he was stubborn, protective, and strict, but loving all the same and determined that the people he cared for had the best life possible. He always kept a beautiful lady by his side, loved to travel, and was never happier than when he was out on a ship cruising the sea or relaxing at home in his bed, taking it easy.
G was a self-made chef who threw down in the kitchen, especially when it came to burgers, sweets, and ice cream. Whenever he cooked, he’d playfully offer his loved ones a choice between the bomb or the bomb diggity, turning every meal into a moment of laughter and togetherness.
His love for entertainment and good vibes ran deep. He enjoyed watching movies, could not stop watching shows like Scandal and Power, and was devoted to his favorite childhood cartoon, Top Cat. He loved golf and was famously undefeated in Wii Sports Golf, a title he wore with pride.
Music was one of the great soundtracks of his life. His taste was expansive, and he enjoyed artists such as The Fugees, Sade, Al Green, The Gap Band, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Temptations, James Brown, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Jarreau, Maze, Charlie Wilson, Lionel Richie, and many more, filling every space he occupied with soul and rhythm.
Gary is lovingly remembered by his children: A’Isha, I’Asha, Ty’ece, Miracle, Aja, and Amir. To them, he was a father who could be tough, but whose love ran deep, and who showed it in his own unforgettable way. When he was being sarcastic, he’d ask, “How’d you get so smart?” in a silly voice, a phrase that will echo in the hearts and memories of those who knew him best.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family and all who were blessed to know his humor, his hustle, his cooking, his music, and his unwavering presence
