Gary's favorite hobbies

Hunting, especially bow hunting. Watching hunting videos and westerns. Listening to political talk shows and TV preachers. He like to cook and would usually make way too much food. Once he learned to get YouTube on the tv he couldn’t get enough of it. He had plans for so many things he would like to do. He loved country music, and Johnny Cash was his favorite. He loved to collect things and had a huge collection of DVDs.

Gary's favorite foods

Loved all kinds of food but it always had to be served with bread. He enjoyed cooking and if it was up to him he would fry everything. He liked to make tacos, chili, spaghetti, and chicken and dumplings. He loved to eat out especially if it was a buffet. Chinese food or western sizzling would be first choices, but he also loved a real good burger, the juicy homemade kind.

Favorite bands and musical artists

Johnny Cash was his favorite but he like all the old country western singers. His favorite song though was Easy Loving by Freddy Heart.

Interesting facts about Gary

He was born in San Diego but he grew up in Alabama. He talk about his dad a lot, who passed when he was young, maybe around 13 years old. He always talked about how his mom made biscuits and gravy every morning for breakfast and how he would add jam on the side to make it even better. He moved with his family to Alpena, Arkansas for a few years before the family moved to California where he met his wife Ginger. They were married for 46 years.

Gary loved nothing more than

Eating out at a buffet. His favorite part was wrapping up some of the food to bring home to his dog Fudge.

Favorite place in the world

His favorite place in the world would have to be Walmart. He worked there for a while and loved it. Then he loved to stop by after work when we he had any money to spend.

Hunting, bow hunting. He liked all the hunting gear, the guns and the bows. Watching hunting videos and thumbing through well worn hunting magazines.

Gary Lee Pickron, born on November 22, 1945, in San Diego, California, passed away on December 28, 2024, in Harrison, Arkansas. He grew up in Alabama, where he fondly remembered his father and the mornings filled with his mother’s homemade biscuits and gravy. Gary moved with his family to Alpena, Arkansas, before eventually settling in California, where he met the love of his life, Ginger. They shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.

Gary retired after 26 years of dedicated service at Tankinetics. He was a passionate outdoorsman, particularly enjoying hunting and bow hunting. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his enthusiasm for cooking, where he often prepared an abundance of food, especially tacos, chili, and his famous chicken and dumplings. Gary had a special fondness for buffets, relishing the opportunity to bring home leftovers for his beloved dog, Fudge.

In his leisure time, Gary enjoyed watching hunting videos, westerns, and political talk shows. He was an avid listener of country music, with Johnny Cash being his favorite artist, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy Freddy Hart’s “Easy Loving.” He had a vast collection of DVDs and took great joy in exploring YouTube, always planning new activities and projects.

Gary was known for his warm-hearted nature and his knack for hospitality, often cooking far more than was needed. His favorite place in the world was Walmart, where he enjoyed spending time, whether shopping after work or simply browsing.
