April 30th 1956 in Detroit, MI. He was the eldest son of Vernice and Claudette Young. Gary received his formal education from the Detroit public school system.He Attended Dekalb Technical College, where he studied broadcasting.
Gary passed away in.
Conyers, GA,. Where he lived with his devoted wife of thirty-six years, Sunshine Young.
Gary has three siblings
Lawrence, Michael and Kyhlee. He was the father of three daughters Kelly, Tonya, Shaleea and one son, Hakim Roberts of Savannah GA.
Gary met the love of his life
Ms. Sheila M. Seals, aka Sunshine, in 1985 on the WNOV radio request line in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and on June 30, 1990, they were married in Las Vegas, NV., and had their dream wedding reception in Richmond Virginia.
Gary's professional life was that
GY, as he was known was fondly referred to, was an accomplished Disc Jockey, a prominent On-Air Announcer and Broadcaster for the Philly Syndication Network. A Producer, Program and Music Director. He was on the Board of Director's for "We Stand Up Coalition". He was a Community Volunteer, and an Advocate of Civil Rights for Social Action and many other accomplishment.
Along with his "Partner in Tyme"
his wife, Sunshine Young, they traveled the world until Gary's untimely health crisis, which afterwards, his loving wife made a profound impact on his critical care. Her unwavering commitment is truly inspiring and her selfless and heartfelt actions made a world of difference to his strength, well-being and human spirit as they shared the final moments of tender love with each other.
He leaves to cherish his memory
His devoted wife, Mrs. Sunshine Young, his four children, seven grandchildren, nieces and nephew. His mother in-law, Mary F. Seals, Sister inlaw Patricia "Tray" (Harold) Payne, brother in-law Patrick (Veronica) Seals, and a hosts of relatives, friends and family. Psalm Division 23
