Fae Marie Spencer (Erquhart), born on October 28, 1956, passed away in her hometown Lubec, Maine on September 16, 2022 at the age of 65. Fae was the daughter of the late Francis Erquhart and Beulah Erquhart (Moores).
Fae is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Clayton Spencer, and siblings Gloria Matthews, Mildred Johnson and Mark Erquhart.
Fae is survived by her children Jason (Alissa) Anthony of Freeport Texas and Selina (Robert) Pottle of Dartmouth Nova Scotia, grandchildren Arabella and Kayla Pottle, siblings Francis ‘Jr.’ Erquhart and Beverly (Peter) Matthews, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Fae also leaves behind her beloved feline companions, Ginger and Little Buddy.
Fae was a strong, independent, and hard working woman. She could be called a ‘Jane of all trades.’ She was a wreath maker, a waitress, cake decorator, cook, baker, business owner, and so much more. Fae enjoyed many hobbies through the years including playing darts, walking near the ocean, listening to music, visiting friends, crocheting, watching wildlife, baking, and going on shopping trips with her sister Bev.
Fae’s children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Her door, her kitchen, and her loving arms were always open. She adored being Grammy to her special girls ‘Cutie Pie’ and ‘Buttercup.’
Fae believed that everyone deserves respect and kindness, and she showed it to everyone she met. Fae spent her life caring for others through her work and daily life, and it brought her great joy to show her love through homemade chocolates, warm blueberry muffins, and comforting cookies. Her caring nature will live on in her family.
There truly are not enough words to express who Fae was and how greatly she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place and Fae’s remains will be interred privately by her family. Fae didn’t like lots of attention and therefore no public service will take place at this time. Her family is overwhelmed and blessed by the outpouring of love and support we have felt from far and wide at her passing. In lieu of flowers for Fae, please consider giving a bouquet of carnations (her favorite flowers) to a loved one, tip your server extra well, share a meal with a friend or neighbor, and remember to always be kind.
We'll plant real trees for you in Fae's memory and display your contribution forever.
