Exon truly loved cars and could you the make, model, and year of a car just by glancing at time! When he was younger he had a collection of model cars which he made by hand. During his lifetime, Exon owned a Ford Mustang, a Honda Civic, An Audi, a van, a Toyota Avalon, his Dad's Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D' Elegance, and a host of other cars. He loved going to the Annual Chicago Auto Show to see the latest models and involving his younger sister, Patricia, in these outings and being instrumental in fostering a similar attraction to cars as well.
Exon was an excellent cook! He would cook any kind of meat fron turkey to beef brisket, and believe the meat would fall of the bones and was always seasoned just perfect! He was know also for this greens, cabbage,egg rolls, and he also master the art of making home made Chicago- style deep dish pizza from scratch! He learned to cook by his mother who was a native of Georgia and came from a long line of culinary experts called Aunties. He would volunteer to barbecue for the 22nd Avenue Block Club summer party in Bellwood.
Exon love to listen to jazz music and R & B. Some of this favorite artist includes Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Arthea Franklin and Miles Davis, just to name a few. Exon loved to dance; he especially loved to step.
Exon loved to help people, especially people in his community; particularly on his block. Exon would always drive his children along with other school age children back and forth to school. He also took elderly neighbors to doctor appointments and back and forth to the grocery store.
Exon Carriera Love was know as Cary to family and friends. He was the oldest of four children: Exon, Grace, Patricia and Van Love.
Exon Carriera Love, affectionately known as Cary, was born on February 13, 1956, in Chicago, IL, and passed away on August 18, 2024, in Bellwood, IL. He was the beloved husband of Debra Isabelle Malone, whom he married on August 9, 1980, and a devoted father to his daughters, Dajah Camille and the late Alexis Grace.
As the eldest of four siblings, Exon cherished his family, which included his sisters, Grace Walton and Patricia Love, and his brother, Van Love. He was a proud grandfather to Senyjah Wren, Antonio Norris, Rekyah Wren, Steven Wren Jr., Dejavon Valenzuela, Gwennetta Dunlap, Trinity Robinson, Rhyen Robinson, and Neveah Robinson. Exon also leaves behind a host of relatives, including his mother-in-law, Henrietta L. Malone, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with a vast circle of dear friends.
Exon was a passionate automotive enthusiast, known for his remarkable ability to identify cars by their make, model, and year. He cultivated his love for cars from a young age, handcrafting a collection of model cars and frequently attending the Annual Chicago Auto Show with his sister, Patricia. Throughout his life, he owned an impressive array of vehicles, including a Ford Mustang and a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D' Elegance, among others.
In addition to his love for cars, Exon was an exceptional cook, mastering the art of preparing everything from savory meats to homemade Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. His culinary skills were influenced by his mother, a native of Georgia, who instilled in him a passion for cooking. Exon often showcased his talents by volunteering to barbecue for community events, such as the 22nd Avenue Block Club summer party.
Professionally, Exon was an accomplished salesman, celebrated for his outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills. His dedication earned him numerous awards and trips, including visits to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and London. He was deeply committed to his community, often driving local children to school and assisting elderly neighbors with transportation for appointments and errands.
Raised in the Apostolic faith, Exon was a faithful member of Bibleway Pentecostal Church in Evanston, IL, where his parents were founders. His legacy of love, kindness, and service will be cherished by all who knew him.
