Evan was born in Seattle.
Evan lived in Edmonds, WA, until he was 9 years old, and then moved to Naperville with his family in 2003.
Evan attended Springbrook Elementary School, Gregory Middle School, and Neuqua Valley High School (class of 2012). He graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. degree in Biology in 2017.
Baseball was Evan's passion, but he loved all sports. He supported the Cubs and cheered on all professional sports teams from Seattle.
Evan had an insatiable curiosity and desire to learn. He loved reading historical fiction books and mystery novels.
Evan was a three-time cancer survivor and persevered through many health problems in his short life.
Evan is survived by his parents, Steve and Rita Garrett of Naperville, IL, and his older brother, Kyle Garrett, also of Naperville. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins across the U.S.
Donations in Evan's memory can be made to the University of Chicago Medical Center or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
