Making a difference
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Eunice Pinto, age 91, on April 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving children and their spouses. Originating from the Bronx, where she was born to Concetta Abbondanza and Nicola Marini, Eunice’s lifelong devotion to family stemmed from the close connection she had with her six siblings.
Her marriage to Valentine Pinto on April 14, 1956, began nearly 60 years of cherished memories in White Plains, NY, where she built a life rich with friendships and an extended family of chosen hearts. Later, her love for granddaughters, Ally and Katie, drew her to Flower Mound, TX, where she became a beloved sideline cheerleader on the soccer field.
Eunice's career as an Administrative Assistant, which spanned many years with the City of White Plains and Reader's Digest, was a source of lasting friendships. These connections extended well beyond her professional life, blossoming through her dedication to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, volunteer work at Burke Rehabilitation Center, and numerous other community endeavors.
A beacon of wit, humor, grace and warmth, Eunice faced life with unwavering resilience, a three-time cancer survivor who lived with intention. Her home was a haven, her Italian cooking a love language, and she was known for her eggplant parmesan and hours-long simmering gravy. Her door was always open, and her heart even more so. The life of every party, she brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. Summers in upstate NY, filled with laughter and family, remained among her most treasured memories.
People naturally gravitated to her—for companionship, thoughtful advice, a supportive ear, or simply a friendly card game or Rummikub. She effortlessly made others feel seen, heard and loved.
Eunice leaves behind her son Frank (Kara), daughter Christine (Michelle), granddaughters Ally and Katie, sister Dorothy, brother Joseph, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, sister Mary, and brothers Nicky, Dominick, and Mario.
Her spirit, effortlessly woven into the lives she touched, endures. Eunice's legacy—family, faith, resilience, and a profound love of life—will continue to inspire and guide us. We are forever blessed to have known her, loved her, and been loved by her. A funeral service in White Plains will honor her memory.
