Eugenie “gigi” Stackowitz, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and devoted mother to her cherished fur babies, Belle and Brooklyn, passed away on April 11, 2026.
gigi was a whirlwind of laughter, stories, and spark—someone who could turn the simplest moments into unforgettable memories. She had a rare gift: she could make you laugh at yourself while reminding you that life is too short not to savor every moment. With her quick wit, infectious laugh, and unmistakable sense of humor, she brought lightness and joy to those around her. She spoke with honesty and warmth, offered help in thoughtful ways, and had a natural gift for connecting with others. Losing her feels like the world has lost its favorite soundtrack—but the echoes of her humor and warmth will linger on.
gigi is survived by her loving sisters, Pegeen, Patrice, and Kara; her nieces, Shannon, Erin, Elizabeth, Grace, and Isabel; her nephews, Matthew and Emmett; in-laws Pam and Liz and countless friends whose lives were brighter because of her. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret; her sister, Stacie; her brothers, Christian and Terence; and was reunited with her beloved Belle.
In gigi’s memory, the family welcomes donations to the Elmbrook Humane Society. gigi's' ashes will be spread with family at her favorite Long Island locations at a later date.
