Eugene “Gene” Llewellyn Tubbs passed away on February 26, 2025, in Walkersville, Maryland, at the age of 100.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. After his military service, he worked as an engineer. Gene often said that joining the Navy taught him responsibility.
He was previously married to Jacqueline Flo (Jones), who preceded him in death, and later married Adele Tubbs. He had two children, Mark and David Tubbs, both of whom preceded him in death. He is also survived by several grandchildren, including Emilie Cornell, Elisabeth Rocha, Connor Tubbs, Eric Tubbs, Corbin Tubbs, Jessica Gilbert, Kayleigh Boston, Ian Samuel, Mason Samuel, Christian Tubbs, Catherine Tubbs, Carson Tubbs, Alexander Rocha, Landon Tubbs, Hunter Tubbs, Bennet Tubbs, Josephine Tubbs, and Eloise Tubbs. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Cavin Tubbs.
No services will be held. The family will gather privately to remember him.
