Ernest Scott McGill, known affectionately as "Gun," was born on March 30, 1974, in Sevierville, Tennessee. He passed away on September 6, 2024, while residing in Bushnell, Florida.
Ernest was a carpenter by trade, and he approached life with a unique perspective that was as complex as it was entertaining. He had a distinctive ability to make people smile, even in their darkest moments, and often utilized his superpower of manipulation with a charm that was hard to resist. His humor and charisma left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
He was a lover of simple pleasures, enjoying peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, honey buns, and a scoop of Neapolitan ice cream. A dedicated fan of Roll Tide, Ernest often found joy in cheering on his favorite sports team. He loved the idea of being anywhere rent-free and bills paid, preferably by someone else, which reflected his playful take on life.
Ernest's life was marked by travel, exploring places such as Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Florida. His favorite sayings, including "Hell u say," often punctuated his interactions, leaving a trail of laughter behind him. He was known for his pride in using the word "love" as a tool rather than a genuine emotion, showcasing his complicated relationship with connections.
Ernest is survived by his loving spouse, Nina Watson, and their children: Hayden, Kyler, Danny, and Jaceius, all of whom carry forward his spirit in their lives. He leaves behind an indelible legacy of complexity, laughter, and the ability to fill others up, only to let them down in the end. Though he may have loved himself above all, his unique presence will be missed by many.
We'll plant real trees for you in Ernest's memory and display your contribution forever.
